Once upon a time there was a challange...

It was about 9 months ago when I was challenged. Challenged to run the 5 km at the Mariekenloop.
A girls only run. Easy! I thought. Let’s do this…
With 7 weeks left on the calendar I was hopeful.
No proper shoes, no proper clothing just my iphone, my headphones and the streets.

But before all this starts to sound so romantic.. It’s not! There was sweat, blood and many tears. I’ve cursed everything and everyone around me. It wasn’t pretty I can tell ya.
One thing I learned within the first week.. Always make sure you look good when going for a run. Cause if you fall (and I did!) you’ll at least look good when going down. Or next time maybe just run in the evening when it's dark.

My trainer, a woman who knows one or two things about running, advised me to buy two things; proper running shoes and a proper sports bra. God, the images she must have seen…
So next stop: Runnersworld. Got them shoes and got them bra. I figured I’d buy an outfit next month.
Quite an expensive hobby I’ve chosen. But I’ve decided, if I’m going to do this, I’m going to do this the right way..

So anyway.. Blisters and Coffee is a blog where you will find some of my running experiences, I’m hoping to crack a few laughs, to be challenged by you, but also to make a connection with my studies Communication. But obviously you got that last part right?

Hope to run from you soon!
